Dr. Shalom Ndaka,

Medical Doctor
RGE Alumni Scholar, Class of 2025

“Throughout my seven years of medical school, RGE Foundation’s scholarship and mentorship shaped my values—they laid the foundation on which I continue to grow and thrive in my personal and professional life. My outlook on life, faith and how to build healthy relationships shifted through application of the principles I learned as a scholar and mentee. Now, as a medical doctor saving lives, I get to use the knowledge I acquired beyond the four walls of medical school classrooms.

Delphine

Entrepreneur
Prior to being awarded RGE Foundation’s scholarship, I was hopeless about completing undergraduate education and pursuing my passion of becoming a business owner. I had a desire to become an entrepreneur but didn’t know how I would go about realizing the dream until our first financial literacy mentorship—I learned principles of personal financial management that empowered me to save money toward starting my own small business. Today, not only am I a graduate from the university, I also own a growing food business called “Everything Dry With D.” You can find me on all social media platforms.

Grace

Mechanical Engineer

The RGE Foundation scholarship and mentorship programs have been transformative pillars in my personal and professional development. Through the mentorship sessions I grew in my confidence to take bold and purpose-driven actions towards reaching my goals. I am navigating life with discipline, clarity and integrity as a leader in my sphere of influence. My current career pursuits are a direct result of the excellence and resilience I cultivated through RGE’s empowerment programs.

Lisa

Educator

RGE Foundation paid for my tuition and invested in my transformation. The mentorship I received helped me to move fear of uncertainty to walking on purpose.I went from being an enrolled student to becoming a teacher. Today, I’m serving a local community in Rwanda as an English teacher because someone believed in my potential. Being part of RGE’s programs strengthened my perception and helped me to grow in confidence.

129 million

girls are out of school.

“Around the world, 129 million girls are out of school, including 32 million of primary school age, 30 million of lower-secondary school age, and 67 million of upper-secondary school age. In countries affected by conflict, girls are more than twice as likely to be out of school than girls living in non-affected countries.”
